"The Cave of Me" - A Poem

I hide inside the cave of me, hoping no one else can see,
hoping that this just can't be. What's with this reality?
Things have gone from bad to worse. Who could be behind this curse?
Rich bitches silently close their purse and Uncle Sam, he drives the hearse.
To get for me, I take from you? That's what all the others do.
But we can trust? So tell me who, when nothing that we see is true.
They built the race and the rules, started off within the schools.
The net, print and the screen are tools, to teach and fatten all the fools.
Fake tan & tits, and awesome ride, who cares that you're empty inside
Shut the hell up, keep in stride. Watch TV, you must abide.
Now wait a minute, I can see, all your hooks and barbs in me.
I refuse to play, I see, that in your game I'm not free.

I will think and learn and grow and I will be aware of the lives of others. I will open my mind to as many different perspectives as I can. I will understand that nothing in this life is for me to take personally. Everyone is just like me and only expressing themselves, not out to get me and if I may fall victim to something someone else is doing I will know that it didn't have to be me, in their mind I was cast as victim #1.

I will not let that get me down, nor judge people unfairly... after all I am just like them. They all can relate to this ... all inside the cave of them.

Come out and play! Leave the cave and bring your absolute true self, your wholly authentic self out and play. If you get hurt I promise to care and not take advantage of that for my own gain. We don't need to start the game again. We can be gentle. We can be fair. We can be compassionate and wise at the same time. I promise to care and I promise to be me :-)
